Rating Criteria

Sites scored by TS Reviews are evaluated using our consistent testing process and seven-category, 100-point rating system.

Our reviews are based on first-hand access to the memberships we evaluate. We enter and use the members area, browse the content library, stream videos, test downloads when available, examine search and filtering tools, check pricing and billing information, and compare the overall experience with competing sites we’ve reviewed.

We don’t assign scores based solely on claims made on a site’s sales page. The purpose of our testing is to understand what someone actually receives after joining and whether the membership provides good value compared with the alternatives.

Some older reviews published before our current scoring framework was standardized may use an earlier rating format or may not yet include the complete seven-category breakdown. As we revisit and substantially update older reviews, we are progressively bringing them in line with our current methodology.

This page explains how we test adult memberships, what our seven rating categories measure, how the final 100-point score is calculated, and how we keep existing reviews and rankings updated.

Our Review Process

Before publishing a review, we evaluate the site from the perspective of a member rather than simply summarizing its public homepage.

Depending on the type of site and the features it offers, our testing can include:

• Researching the company or network behind the website
• Checking pricing, billing terms, and available payment methods
• Accessing and exploring the members area
• Browsing the complete content library
• Streaming videos from different parts of the library
• Testing downloads when downloads are available
• Checking available video resolutions and formats
• Testing search, filters, categories, tags, and performer pages
• Checking mobile usability and responsive design
• Looking at recently published content and update frequency
• Checking whether advertised bonus sites or network access are actually included
• Reviewing cancellation and rebilling information where available
• Comparing the membership with competing sites we’ve already reviewed

Not every site offers the same features, so the exact testing process can vary. A streaming-only site cannot be evaluated for downloads, for example, while a large network membership may require additional testing to determine exactly which sites and libraries are included.

Sites using our current 100-point rating system are evaluated according to the same seven-category scoring framework described below.

We Test the Actual Members Area

Looking at a public sales page isn’t enough for us to properly evaluate a premium membership.

Sales pages are designed to promote the strongest aspects of a site. They don’t necessarily show how easy the members area is to use, whether search works well, how content is organized, how older videos compare with newer releases, or how useful the library feels once you actually have access to it.

That’s why our reviews are based on access to the membership itself.

Once inside, we browse the site as a member would. We open different categories and performer pages, use the search and filtering tools, stream content, inspect recently published scenes, and test other membership features that are relevant to the particular site.

This often reveals details that aren’t obvious before joining.

Examples of Our Hands-On Testing

Our review methodology is based on more than information found on public sales pages. Whenever possible, we access the actual membership and test the site from the perspective of a paying user.

The screenshots below are examples from sites we have reviewed. They show some of the areas we examine inside memberships, including navigation, streaming, downloads, content libraries, search tools, saved content, video quality and other members-only features.

These are only a few examples of the checks we perform. The exact testing process varies depending on the type of site and the features included with a membership. As we review and revisit more sites, we will continue adding examples of our first-hand testing.

Testing Video Quality

We don’t award a high Video Quality score simply because a site advertises 4K.

During testing, we look at the quality available across the library rather than only the site’s newest or best-looking production.

Depending on the site, we consider:

• Available video resolutions
• Quality of newer releases
• Quality of older archive content
• Streaming quality
• Playback stability
• Loading and buffering
• Available download resolutions and formats
• Consistency of quality across the library

This distinction matters on older adult networks. A site may now publish new scenes in 4K while still containing thousands of older videos in lower resolutions.

In that situation, we don’t describe the entire library as 4K simply because the newest productions are available at that resolution.

Testing Content Libraries

Large numbers on a sales page don’t automatically result in a high Content Quantity score.

We browse the actual library and consider how much useful content the membership provides.

That includes looking at:

• Total library size
• Number and variety of performers
• Categories and niches represented
• Age and depth of the archive
• Amount of recent content
• Duplicate or recycled scenes
• Original versus licensed content
• Additional sites or libraries included with the membership

This is particularly important when reviewing large adult networks. A membership advertising tens of thousands of videos may include content from many different studios, duplicated scenes, or a substantial archive of older material.

We therefore consider both the headline number and what that library actually offers to a member.

Testing Search, Filters & Usability

Usability becomes increasingly important as a library gets larger.

During testing, we use the site’s navigation rather than simply checking whether a search box exists.

We may search for particular performers, browse categories, apply filters, move between video and performer pages, and see how easily we can find specific types of content.

We also consider:

• Site speed
• Navigation
• Search quality
• Filtering options
• Category organization
• Performer pages
• Video previews
• Mobile usability
• Streaming interface
• Download interface
• Advertising inside the members area

A smaller, well-organized library can sometimes provide a better user experience than a much larger site where finding specific content is frustrating.

Our 100-Point Rating System

Under our current rating system, a reviewed membership can receive a maximum of 100 points across seven rating categories.

Overall Impression — 20 Points

Overall Impression reflects our experience with the membership as a whole.

We consider what it’s like to actually use the site, from entering the members area and finding content to streaming videos and using the site’s features.

A site can have a huge library and excellent video quality but still lose points here if the membership feels outdated, confusing, overloaded with advertising, poorly maintained, or frustrating to use.

Likewise, a smaller site can score strongly if the complete experience is polished and consistently good.

Video Quality — 15 Points

Video Quality measures the actual viewing experience rather than simply the highest resolution advertised on the homepage.

We consider available resolutions, streaming quality, playback stability, download quality where available, and how consistent the video quality is across the library.

A site containing a small number of 4K releases alongside a very large low-resolution archive won’t necessarily receive the same score as a site where high-quality video is the standard throughout most of the membership.

Content Quantity — 15 Points

Content Quantity considers the amount and variety of useful content available after joining.

We look at library size, performers, categories, archive depth, recent releases, and how much variety the membership provides.

We don’t award points purely according to an advertised video count. Duplicate, recycled, or heavily overlapping content can reduce the practical value of a large library.

Site Usability — 10 Points

Site Usability measures how easy the membership is to use.

We evaluate navigation, search, filters, categories, performer pages, video previews, playback controls, mobile compatibility, site speed, and how easily members can find the content they’re looking for.

For large memberships containing thousands of scenes, good search and filtering tools can make a significant difference to the final experience.

Exclusivity — 10 Points

Exclusivity measures how much unique or difficult-to-find content the membership provides.

Sites producing substantial amounts of original content generally score higher than memberships consisting primarily of videos licensed or aggregated from other networks.

However, being an aggregator isn’t automatically negative. A network combining content from many studios can still provide excellent value. The Exclusivity category simply recognizes that original content gives users a stronger reason to maintain a particular membership.

Updates — 10 Points

Updates measure whether the site continues adding meaningful new content after someone joins.

We look at how frequently new scenes are published, how consistent the update schedule appears to be, and whether recent additions represent genuinely new content rather than recycled material.

A huge archive with very few current updates may therefore receive a lower Updates score than a smaller but highly active studio.

Value — 20 Points

Value receives 20 points because membership price is important, but the cheapest site doesn’t automatically receive the highest Value score.

We compare the price with what the membership actually provides, including:

• Content quantity
• Video quality
• Update frequency
• Exclusive content
• Streaming and download access
• Site usability
• Bonus sites or network access
• Membership restrictions
• Overall quality of the experience

A more expensive membership can therefore receive a higher Value score than a cheaper competitor if it provides substantially more useful content or a much better overall experience.

What Our Scores Mean

The final score provides a quick way to compare memberships, but it shouldn’t replace reading the review itself.

90–100	Excellent – one of the strongest memberships we’ve reviewed
80–89	Very Good – a strong membership with relatively few major weaknesses
70–79	Good – worthwhile for the right user but with notable limitations
60–69	Average – some worthwhile qualities but significant drawbacks
Below 60	Below Average – difficult to recommend over stronger alternatives

Two sites with the same overall score can still be very different memberships. One might have a huge library but relatively little exclusive content, while another might have a smaller library of higher-quality original productions.

The individual category scores explain why each site received its final rating.

Review Scores vs Rankings

Our numerical scores and editorial rankings serve slightly different purposes.

The 100-point score evaluates the complete membership using the seven categories above.

Our rankings and category recommendations consider which membership is best suited to a particular type of user.

For example, a large general trans membership might receive a higher overall numerical score, while a smaller specialist site could still rank higher for a specific performer type, region, content style, or niche.

The score represents our assessment of the complete membership. The ranking represents our recommendation for the particular comparison or category.

How We Compare Competing Sites

We don’t evaluate memberships in isolation.

Having reviewed a large number of premium adult sites gives us a reference point for judging whether a price is competitive, whether a library is genuinely large, whether video quality stands out, and whether a site’s update schedule is unusually active or slow.

When appropriate, we compare competing memberships based on:

• Library size
• Video quality
• Exclusive content
• Performers and categories
• Update frequency
• Search and navigation
• Streaming and downloads
• Membership price
• Bonus-site access
• Overall value

This comparative experience helps us explain not only whether a site is good, but who we think it’s best for and when another membership might be a better choice.

What Can Lower a Review Score

A site can lose points when we encounter problems that negatively affect the membership experience.

Examples include:

• Misleading or unclear billing information
• Unclear cancellation information
• Exaggerated content or update claims
• Broken videos or missing content
• Poor mobile usability
• Excessive advertising inside the members area
• Slow or unstable streaming
• Poor search and navigation
• Misleading content previews
• Large amounts of duplicated or recycled content
• Long periods without meaningful updates
• Poor value compared with competing memberships

The impact depends on the severity of the problem. A minor navigation annoyance won’t have the same effect as misleading billing information or a membership that substantially misrepresents what users receive.

What Doesn’t Determine Our Scores

There are also several things that don’t automatically produce a higher rating:

• Affiliate commission: A higher commission doesn’t result in a higher score.
• Advertising: Purchasing advertising doesn’t improve a site’s editorial rating.
• Headline library numbers: Advertising thousands of videos doesn’t automatically result in a high Content Quantity score.
• 4K labels: Having some 4K videos doesn’t automatically result in a high Video Quality score.
• Low prices: A cheap membership isn’t necessarily good value.
• Marketing claims: We don’t award points simply because a site describes itself as the largest, best, or highest quality.

Editorial Independence & Affiliate Relationships

TS Reviews is independently operated and is not owned by an adult studio, network, or membership platform.

The website is supported in part through affiliate partnerships. If a reader follows certain links and purchases a membership, TS Reviews may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader.

Affiliate relationships do not determine our review scores or rankings.

We apply the same rating criteria regardless of whether a site operates an affiliate program or how much commission it offers.

We don’t increase scores or guarantee rankings in exchange for higher commissions, advertising, complimentary reviewer access, or other commercial arrangements.

We may negotiate discounted membership prices for TS Reviews readers. When a genuine discount changes the price someone pays, we may consider that price when evaluating value, but the commercial relationship itself doesn’t determine the site’s score.

How We Keep Reviews Updated

Adult membership sites can change significantly after a review is first published.

Prices change, libraries grow, sites change ownership, new video formats become available, update schedules slow down or improve, and features can be added or removed.

For that reason, we periodically revisit previously reviewed memberships and check important information such as:

• Current membership prices
• Billing and subscription options
• Approximate library size
• Recent updates
• Current video quality
• Streaming and download options
• Search and navigation
• Mobile usability
• Bonus-site access
• Major ownership or platform changes

Popular reviews may be revisited several times per year, while other reviews are updated when we identify a significant change.

If a change materially affects our opinion of a membership, we may update the written review, individual category scores, overall rating, or its position in our rankings.

Some older TS Reviews content predates our current seven-category scoring framework. When we substantially revisit those reviews, we may update them to use the current methodology where appropriate.

Why Review Scores Can Change

A review score isn’t intended to remain permanently fixed.

A membership can improve by adding better-quality video, expanding its library, publishing more frequently, improving navigation, or providing better value.

It can also decline if updates stop, prices increase substantially, important features disappear, content becomes outdated, or the user experience deteriorates.

We therefore evaluate memberships according to what they currently offer rather than preserving an old score simply because it was previously published.

Prices, Video Counts & Other Changing Information

Some information changes more frequently than our reviews can reasonably be updated.

Video counts are a good example. An active site can add several new scenes between our checks, so we often use figures such as “1,000+” rather than presenting a library count as permanently exact.

Prices, promotions, trial offers, and billing options can also change without notice.

We periodically check this information, but readers should confirm the final price and billing terms on the membership site’s checkout page before purchasing.

Limitations of Our Testing

No review process can make every part of an adult membership completely objective.

Content preferences are personal, and two people may have very different opinions about performers, production styles, categories, or what represents good value.

Technical performance can also vary. Streaming speed, loading times, and download performance can be affected by internet connection, geographic location, device, browser, Wi-Fi, and server conditions.

We therefore focus on repeatable observations and the overall membership experience rather than treating one isolated technical result as universally representative.

Our 100-point framework provides consistency between reviews, while first-hand testing and editorial judgment allow us to account for differences that numbers alone can’t fully explain.

Who Conducts the Reviews?

Reviews and editorial content on TS Reviews are produced by our editorial team and overseen by Daniel, Chief Editor of TS Reviews.

Daniel has been reviewing premium adult membership sites since 2012 through Dark Angel Reviews. His experience includes reviewing and comparing adult membership sites across multiple categories, including transgender adult sites, before TS Reviews launched as a dedicated publication in 2016.

As Chief Editor, Daniel oversees our review standards, rating system, major review updates, comparisons, and overall editorial direction.

Tyron, Editor & Reviewer, has been writing reviews and articles for TS Reviews since 2016. He also contributes to membership testing, research, site comparisons, review updates, and other editorial content focused specifically on transgender adult memberships.

Our Goal

The purpose of our rating system isn’t to pretend that every aspect of an adult membership can be reduced to a perfect mathematical formula.

The seven scoring categories give us a consistent framework for comparing sites, while hands-on testing allows us to explain the differences that aren’t obvious from specifications or marketing claims.

Our goal is to give readers enough information to understand what a membership does well, where it falls short, how it compares with competing sites, and whether we think it provides good value for the type of content they’re looking for.
